This is an excellent question Sathvika. Let me share my story which might answer your question.
I completed my 10th standard in 2003. Did my intermediate between 2003 and 2005. Went to IIT and completed in 2009. I got a job through campus placements and started working in Yahoo! at an age of 21. This in itself is a settlement for many. But little ambition in me made me do MBA from IIM Ahmedabad after 3 years. So completed MBA in 2014. Again, I job through campus placements, this time in Microsoft. This is like the second settlement in life.
After 18 months in Microsoft, I have resigned it to start my own company. Currently, I am working very hard to make the company sustainable. Interestingly, many feel that I am not settled now
Settlement in my view comes when we stop chasing Bigger goals in life. If Narendra Modi thought that he had settled well as 'RSS Pracharak', he would have never become the Prime Minister of India.
During my early 20s, I always wondered why only a few people in an organisation reach the top like becoming the CEO while many others are left behind. I have got the answer now,
People who grew in life thought of their job as the starting point,
Those who didn't grow thought of their job as settlement
Now to answer your question, it depends on whether you treat 2026 as the starting point or the settlement point !!
Thank again for asking such a great question which is useful to all the readers.
